The Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU applies to electrical or electronic products that intentionally emit and/or receive radio waves, such as televisions, mobile phones and Wi-Fi equipment. Manufacturers of radio equipment must meet the requirements of this Directive. However, they should also ensure the safety of persons and domestic pets, as set out in the Low Voltage Directive, as well as see to it that the radio equipment maintains an appropriate level of electromagnetic compatibility, as set out in the EMC Directive.
